General information: Booked this hotel because we were heading to HOF induction ceremony and wanted something closer than my Albany hotel that was reserved. For the price and location I booked it.
Location and surroundings: I don't see a town, but we didn't look around the area much. A couple of gas stations a convienience store or two. A hi way out front and a busy street out back. Gravel driveway with a Budget Inn sign out front. Bates hotel feel.
Service: Manager/owner was pleasant enough. Although when I complained about the room, bad smell, window shaker AC, crappy TV, no wifi, the lock was just on the door handle, standard key. He offered a new room. What is wrong with my room is not limited to this unit. I had found another room at a reputable hotel while wallowing in this pigsty. He offered to fix the unfixable in my room. Offering a new room. I finally said I had another room. He makes sure all of this is on video so he still gets paid. Wolf in sheets clothing
Sports and leisure: None
Room: Windows, street level, we're all open when we arrived. This did not cover up the smell emanating from the room. Old building, musty smell. It also ,are the room a blazing 90 degrees. Had to close the windows for the window mounted AC to try and cool the room. 6 hours on full blast, not enough to cool it down. No WiFi. No safe, no ironing facility, Tube style round front TV which kind of worked after it warmed up. The mini fridge/freezer had a huge block of ice in it. Slept in my clothes. Was afraid of getting under the covers. Towels left on the desk by the front door. Two non matching bath towels and two non matching face towels. No tub, shower only, broken toilet seat
Useful tips: Don't book here. If you do stay here after reading this, you have no one to blame but yourself. Trust to bad reviews on this one. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and am now paying for two nights that I am not using-Thanks Travleocity for somehow turning all of the bad reviews on this hotel into a 3.4 rating.
